This is The Big West

Valentine’s Day edition of “This is The Big West,” as we head to the “Witching Hour” part of the conference schedule, with a mere 23 days remaining before the Big West Basketball Championships, are convened in Henderson, NV.

First-Place Long Beach State went 2-0 last week, as did defending champions UC Santa Barbara. The Matadors of CSUN posted their first 2-0 weekend of the season, on the road, no less, while Hawaii recorded a split on their most recent home stand.

Don’t look now, but UC Irvine has now won five in a row, and has games with the teams at the top of the conference pending, while Cal State Fullerton & UC Riverside both look to get back on track, after 0-2 performances this week.
