New episode, fresh off the presses. Teams trending up, teams trending down. Nine games played this week, so a few more highlights, and a little more activity in this week’s standings. Looks like the conference tiers have begun to take shape.
Dedicated this week’s episode to Muhammad Ali, based on his birthday being on January 17th, which coincides with the MLK Holiday. Dr. King’s actual birthday was actually Saturday, January 15th, and in recent years, there’s been a lot written about how they crossed paths, as both attempted to advance the civil rights movement.
My father spent his first five years in the US in Atlanta, where he was a student, and later a university instructor, as a Grad Student. He had the opportunity to see Dr. King speak, and saw first-hand the influence he carried in the civil rights movement. Suffice to say, he was incredibly impressed.
