Last projection before official CIF-SS pairings come out. We used CalPreps ratings and the CIF Automatic Qualifiers. We went with a ten-team Division 1 configuration in this projection, so 176 AQ teams, and 42 At-large teams, made up the field of 218 teams, across fourteen (14) divisions.
Based on discussions with coaches and media folks close to the situation, we’ve chosen to place some teams under .500 in the projection, most notably, Servite.
Alemany (2-7) would have fallen within range for Division 5, but is under .500. Chino Hills (4-6) would have been in range for Division 6, but ended up under .500. La Mirada (4-6), Foothill (4-6) and Westlake (2-8), were all within range for Division 8. Hesperia (4-6) fell within range for Division 9, while Royal (4-6), Temescal Canyon (3-7), El Toro (2-8), Santiago (2-8), Peninsula (4-6), Alta Loma (4-6), Paraclete (1-9), and Poly (4-6) fall within Division 10 parameters.
Los Osos (3-7), Canyon Ventura (2-8), Shadow Hills (4-6), and San Marcos (4-6) also fall within range for Division 11. All ended up under .500.
The last At-Large team would have been in Division 11, with a rating of -2.2.
