CIF-SS Playoff Division Projections

Week 10, October 28

Almost to the finish line, as Week 10 is upon us. The final picture is starting to take shape. We do have a number of games this week that will decide AQ and League Titles. There are a couple of sub-.500 at-large teams in this projection, because I think a couple of them will make the final field. They’ve been included to balance numbers in first twelve divisions. (D13 & D14 are exclusively Automatic Qualifiers.)

The Week 10 edition of this is always my favorite, because I get to do footnotes, so make sure you check them out. I’m going to try and do a final projection ahead of the release Sunday morning, but I’m on a plane most of the day Saturday, so we’ll see.

Four teams are tied at 2-2 for the last 2 AQ. Leuzinger, Culver City, Mira Costa and Palos Verdes are all 2-2. Head to Head between the 4, Leuzinger is 2-1, Culver City is 1-2 and Mira Costa and Palos Verdes play in Week 10. I've assigned the 2^nd AQ to Leuzinger on head-to- head and 3^rd to Mira Costa, based on CalPreps Rating.

BIG WEST LOWER

King and Temecula Valley are tied at 2-2. Temecula Valley has been assigned the AQ, due to their 24-23 win over King on October 18^th.

BRAVO

Newport Harbor and Villa Park play for 3^rd AQ on Friday. Projecting Villa Park as AQ, based on CalPreps Rating.

CHANNEL

Projecting Oak Park as 3^rd AQ due to 27-18 win over Oxnard on 10/10

Victor Valley and Silverado play for 2^nd this week (Five-Team League), Victor Valley will be AQ for this projection, based on CalPreps Rating.

DESERT VALLEY

Yucca Valley project as 2^nd AQ (Four-Team League) due to 49-21 win over Indio, on 10/18.

EPSILON

Huntington Beach projects as 3^rd AQ, due to 43-29 win over Foothill, 10/18

FOXTROT

Aliso Niguel, Northwood & Orange, tied for 3^rd AQ at 2-2. Aliso lost to Northwood, but beat Orange, while Orange beat Northwood. If Orange, Northwood and Aliso all win Friday, would be five-way tie for first place. Both four-way tie and three-way ties are also on the table. Without going into all tie-breakers, projecting Aliso Niguel as 3rd AQ, and let chips fall where they may.

GANO

Chaffey and Lugo play for 2^nd AQ Friday. Projecting Chaffey, based on CalPreps Rating.

GATEWAY
