Big West Commissioner Dan Butterly

Sat down earlier today, with “The Commish,” Big West Commissioner Dan Butterly, to discuss the current state of Big West Basketball. In addition to some of the challenges presented by COVID, we discussed the conference’s ESPN Plus deal, and how Dan’s experience with the Mountain West could be a model to improve the level of competition for the Big West, on both the Men’s and Women’s side.

Big West play began on December 28th, but has stalled a bit, with some recent COVID cancellations. Conference play culminates between March 8th and 12th, in Henderson, Nevada, at the Dollar Loan Center. The 2022 Big West Basketball Championships, will be the first event, at the newly opened area. Tickets are now available, through your Big West institution.
